After two seasons of mystery, NCIS: Sydney Season 3 has finally answered the question fans have been asking since the beginning — who really is Blue?
In the shocking episode titled “True Blue,” viewers learned the heartbreaking truth about her past and how she transformed her life to become one of the most trusted agents on the team.

At the start of the episode, fans were stunned to see that Blue had suddenly quit the NCIS team without saying goodbye. She didn’t meet her friends, didn’t explain why — just left behind a video message. Her strange behavior worried Doc, who decided to find out what really happened.
When Doc broke into Blue’s home, he found bones hidden in her ceiling, setting off one of the show’s darkest investigations yet. What the team uncovered next changed everything they knew about Blue.
Blue’s Hidden Past
It turned out that Blue had grown up in a cult with her twin brother, Eli. The cult, led by a woman named Aspira, controlled every part of their lives. Blue was told her father had left her, but when she grew older, she began to suspect something was wrong.
Using her smarts, Blue stole a bone scanner to uncover the truth — and found out that the bones she discovered belonged to her own father, Robert. Aspira had lied to everyone and was hiding terrible secrets within the cult.
Blue managed to escape, but her past followed her. After time in juvenile detention, she decided to start over, changed her identity, and worked hard to become part of the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

Blue’s Return to the Cult
While the team searched for her, Aspira tricked Blue into returning to the cult. She told Blue that she and Eli were “Gemini twins” chosen to help the members ascend to heaven. Aspira’s real plan was horrifying — she wanted everyone to drink poisoned tea in a mass death ritual.
Luckily, the NCIS: Sydney team arrived in time, saving both Blue and her brother. But this rescue came with a shocking discovery: Blue’s file revealed that she was once an ex-felon who had hidden her criminal past to join NCIS.
Can Blue Win Back Her Team’s Trust?
After learning the truth, team leaders Mackey and JD decided to keep Blue’s secret safe — for now. They understood that she had been a victim, not a villain. However, they know that rebuilding trust won’t be easy.
In an interview, showrunner Morgan O’Neill shared that Blue’s journey is just beginning:
“When you fail to tell the truth to people you love, that impacts trust. Blue will have a big challenge ahead as she tries to earn her team’s faith again.”
For now, Blue has her team’s support and a second chance to rebuild her life. Her story shows that it’s never too late to start over — even when your past is full of pain.
NCIS: Sydney Season 3 airs every Tuesday on CBS, bringing more twists, secrets, and emotional moments each week.
