The Young and the Restless Devon and Abby Need a New Story

On The Young and the Restless, we haven’t seen much of Devon and Abby since they returned from their trip to Nice, France. Abby is still trying to move on from Chance’s death, while Devon has been seen only a few times with Lily and Amanda. Fans are starting to wonder — when will these two get their own story again?

Drinks, Drama, and Gossip at Society

Devon and Abby met for drinks at Society, but instead of having fun, they spent the evening talking about Phyllis and Cane. They weren’t happy with how Phyllis acted during Christine’s bachelorette party, and they didn’t trust Cane’s sudden kindness toward Lily.

Devon and Abby weren’t thrilled to see Cane walk in at Society.

Both Devon and Abby looked suspicious and annoyed whenever Cane’s name came up. It’s like they forgot how to relax and enjoy the night. Maybe the writers should give them something exciting to do instead of just gossiping!

Lily Walks In, and Things Get Awkward

Later, Lily arrived at the restaurant. Cane quickly asked if he could buy her a drink. Devon shot her a serious look, as if saying, “Don’t do it!” But Lily, being polite, said yes — while making it clear it wasn’t a date. Still, Devon looked ready to explode.

Devon and Abby watched Lily closely, worried she might forgive Cane.

It was funny and awkward at the same time. Devon and Abby both stared across the room at Lily and Cane like two parents watching their kid at prom. We get it — they care about Lily. But she’s an adult and can make her own choices.

Too Many Stares, Not Enough Stories

As Cane and Lily talked, Devon couldn’t stop watching them. Abby even told him a few times to relax because Lily could handle herself. Eventually, Devon listened, but it was clear he was still uneasy.

Cane and Lily’s private talk wasn’t so private with Devon and Abby watching.

Devon’s behavior showed how protective he is of his family — but also how lost he seems right now. Abby, too, has been stuck in scenes that don’t really go anywhere. Both of them deserve better.

What Should Come Next for Devon and Abby?

Right now, The Young and the Restless doesn’t seem sure what to do with Devon or Abby. They’ve both been part of the show for years, but their stories feel unfinished.

Abby could spend more time with her half-sister Victoria, since they barely spoke during Christine’s party. Their relationship could be fun to explore again. Maybe the two could work together on a business project or just hang out more often.

As for Devon, since he’s a music producer, he could be part of a new storyline with Tessa and Daniel. Tessa is a singer, and Daniel has been helping her with her music — it would make sense for Devon to join them. That could bring some energy back to his character and create fresh drama.

Fans Want Something New

Fans love Devon and Abby, but it’s time for them to move beyond sitting at Society and talking about other people. They both have strong personalities, interesting jobs, and emotional backstories. Let’s see that again on screen!

Maybe Abby finds new love, or Devon starts a new music project that leads to trouble. Either way, these two deserve a story that’s all about them — not just being side characters in other people’s drama.

Final Thoughts:
Tuesday’s episode reminded viewers that even great characters can feel lost without good storylines. Devon and Abby have so much potential — it’s time for The Young and the Restless writers to give them a real adventure.
